Toby’s Story

Hey there! I’m Toby, and I want to take you on a wild ride through my life before, during, and after my baby sister came into the picture. You see, I’ve been an only child about 13 years, never really thinking about what it would be like to have a sibling. I just did my thing, playing sports, watching TV, and having a blast. People always told me how lucky I was, not having to deal with all the arguing and crying that comes with having a bro or sis. But man, things changed when my parents dropped the bomb on me.

Anticipation and Gender Reveal:

When I first heard the news that I was gonna have a sibling, I was like, “Alright, cool, whatever.” But as the days went by, it started sinking in. I couldn’t help but wonder how different things would be. But you know what? Those thoughts didn’t stick around for long. Soon enough, my parents were like, “Guess what? Gender reveal time!” So, I mentally prepared myself, secretly hoping for a baby bro. But guess what? It turned out to be a girl! At that moment, I had no clue how amazing it would be to have a little sister. As time went on, our excitement grew and grew.

The Unexpected Arrival:

Fast forward a few months later, we were on a family vacation, having a blast with relatives. Vacations are always a blast, right? Well, ours took a crazy turn. In the last couple of days, we got some crazy news—my little sis was coming early, like a whole month ahead of schedule. We didn’t see that coming, let me tell you! We were excited, but also super nervous. The doctors said they’d try to hold off the birth as long as possible ’cause her tiny lungs weren’t fully ready. So, we all waited in the hospital room, minutes ticking away. We chatted nervously, talking about how life was about to change. And then, bam! They rushed us out. Turns out, my sis had other plans. She wanted out ASAP. No one was allowed in the room, just waiting in the waiting room, serious expressions all around. But me? Man, I was freaking out, worried about my mom and how she was feeling. I thought it was gonna be a long, agonizing process, but boy was I wrong.

The Challenging Beginnings:

So, my little sis was born, but she was a preemie, which meant she needed some extra care. They put her in this special room where only parents and grandparents could see her. And let me tell you, it was a major bummer for me. I didn’t even know what my own sister looked like! The only way I could see her was through FaceTime with my mom. And let me tell you, she looked so sad with all those wires hooked up to her. It was tough hearing about all the stuff she had to go through every day, getting those wires replaced and all that. But you know what? In the end, everything turned out alright. She finally came home, and man, was I excited to meet her! I’ve never felt that kind of happiness and excitement before, I swear. It’s been about 9 and a half months since then, and every single day, I look out for my little sis, doing whatever I can to make her smile and laugh. I never knew having a little sister could be such a blessing, but let me tell you, I’m beyond happy she’s in my life.

So, that’s my story, my perspective on how my little sis came into this world
